JOB SUMMARY
The lead operator trainee #1 position is responsible for understanding the functionality of a wide web FLEXO press and continuing to understand our customer’s needs while helping as needed for continuous improvement and upgrades.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Follow all established safety rules and regulations and utilize required safety equipment. Report any unsafe conditions/hazards immediately.Ask questions, absorb and retain process knowledge.Assists in other areas of the plant as neededCoordinate and direct production work flow; ensure quality standards, production efficiencies and timely completion of work orders are metTroubleshoot and resolve problems related to production, and quality issues; maintain a physical presence in the plant Attend all quality training.Review and sign off on quality work instructions annually.Complete 2 quality and safety audits monthly.Complete all quality checklist before and during press run.Set up quality inspection system before press run.Ensure all quality checklists are being completed by press crew.Efficiently set print during set up.Understand how to read all tooling for a job.Ensure finish goods tickets are applied to correct rolls.Understand our customer’s needs when in production.Attend all production training.Attend all off-site training if scheduled by a supervisor.Review and sign off on production work instructions annually.Understand all functions for running the press efficiently. Use the schedule to prepare upcoming job tooling.Ensure upcoming jobs are set up correctly using the mounting screen.Understand anilox, ink adjustment, and dot gains.Ensure anilox are clean and ready for upcoming runs.Assist unwinder and rewinder when necessary.Ensure the press stays in production.Must be able to accommodate overtime coverage for opposite shift.Assist with machine related quality issuesEnsure compliance with all safety and environmental rules and regulations; create and maintain a safe and secure work environmentInteract with various departments and personnel, including other shift supervisors, set-up team, and temporary staffing agency (when applicable) to assure production requirements are metAssist with development and maintenance of cost-effective efficiency and quality improvements Assist Management in executing operating strategies and plans, and achieving company goals and objectivesSupport the maintenance crew in meeting or exceeding the goals in Safety, Quality, Cost, Production, Environmental and Housekeeping Candidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.
