Lead P-8 Support Equipment Technician

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Lead P-8 Support Equipment Technician to support the USN P-8 program located in Sigonella, Italy. 

This is a long term assignment to Sigonella, Italy subject to business conditions and individual performance. Relocation/assignment benefits to the international relocation will be provided.

Position Responsibilities:

Assist the Lead Technician as needed in daily accomplishments and tasking

Maintain a limited number of systems by removing, replacing, repairing or upgrading components

Troubleshoot problems to isolate faulty components

Conduct routine functional tests by operating equipment and using appropriate test equipment

Perform a variety of visual inspections as required by equipment maintenance documents

Document maintenance and inspection actions as required

Create and maintain maintenance, calibration and inventory tracking systems

Work under general supervision and with minimal direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Jacksonville, Florida/Sigonella, Italy.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active) 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

5+ years of experience maintaining aircraft Ground Support Equipment

Experience formally or informally leading a team

Ability to work and support a 24/7 on-call rotation environment

Ability to travel domestically and internationally on short notice; as much as 50% of the time

At the sole discretion of leadership, employee must be willing and able (on potentially short-notice) to deploy/travel to a variety of locations (domestic and international) and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs and the statement of work. Unless compelling reasons exist, failure to deploy/travel will be considered as a resignation

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Experience using Microsoft Office Applications (Word/Excel/Outlook)

General automotive servicing experience with an electrical, hydraulic, and internal combustion engine background

Ex-Pat Information:

Candidate must be able to obtain a work visa, depending on requirements of the country

Candidate must be able to meet the cultural requirements of the country, as applicable

Employment is contingent on the candidate’s ability to satisfy all labor and immigration formalities of the country

Because the candidate selected will be expected to go on an international assignment, the offer will be contingent upon the candidate’s ability to obtain clearances from International Health Services and the receipt of a visa/work permit to the country in which he or she will be assigned. These contingencies also apply to any/all family members who may be relocating with the candidate.

Typical Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).

Relocation:

Domestic relocation is not authorized for this position. Candidate will be located in Jacksonville, FL before they leave for their international assignment to Sigonella, Italy.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range: 70,550-95,450 for domestic base. Fringe benefits will be applicable upon start date in Sigonella, Italy.
