Lead Packaging Associate

Job Summary

Under the guidance of the department supervisor, provide leadership to the team by coordinating workloads, provide support to ensure that the team delivers, monitor any issues, and ensure production targets and quality standards are met in order to meet the requirements of the customer and department goals. Develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards, while fostering a culture of working safely.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication cultureProvide training to new employees and identify training needs and cross training throughout the departmentSet clear team goalsAssign team rotation scheduleOversee day-to-day operation of the department ad provide support for the team to achieve goalsOpen and confirm production orders and ensure kanban levels and safety stock are maintainedReport inventory discrepancies to supervisor or inventory personnelIdentify BOM and routing discrepanciesPrepare line set ups for following shiftMonitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with the policyMotivate team membersListen to team members’ feedback and assist to resolve any issues or conflictsChampion proper housekeeping practices, safety policies and use of personal protective equipment, as well as other company policiesOther duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or GED and one year related experienceAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and proceduresExcellent communication and leadership skillsAbility to multi-task in a fast paced environment and prioritize duties and deadlines with limited supervisionBasic math skills

Preferred Skills and Abilities

Proven work experience as a team leaderBasic computer knowledge for production tasksAbility to set up scales and jigs
