*This position is held in our Dental department. Dental experience preferred but not required.
Job Summary: The patient access team lead assists the Front Office Manager or Site Manager with day-to-day activities of the front desk and ensures that policies and procedures are followed. The lead acts as a point of contact for the front office manager or site manager, billing, and provider staff for the job responsibilities and performance of the front desk team.
Job Duties:
• Liaison between the front desk and the front office manager or site manager, billing, and provider staff
• Provides supervision to the front desk staff on day-to-day tasks in conjunction with the front office manager or site manager.
• Responsible for ensuring adequate front desk coverage at all times
• Responsible for ensuring that scheduling policies are followed
• Responsible for ensuring that billing procedures are followed
• Responsible for ensuring that registration procedures are followed
• Responsible for ensuring that Valley Health patient protection policies (e.g. HIPPA) are followed
• Responsible for leading quality care initiative such as daily huddles, reports from Aledade, etc.
• Responsible for ordering of various supplies including office and marketing
• Responsible for opening and closing of center per shift requirements
• Responsible for seeing that all site correspondence is received, distributed, and answered in a timely manner
• Participate in the interview/hiring and orientation process of future staff.
• Recommend and initiate change within the department (after approval from the office coordinator and provider staff) to improve patient flow and the patient experience.
• Responsible for ensuring excellent front desk patient service
• Performs front desk duties as an active member of the front office team (see Receptionist Job Description for full detail of duties)
• Maintain compliance with the organization’s confidentiality policy in accordance to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• High school graduate/GED.
• Ability to relate to patients, through familiarity with medical terminology and triage procedure.
• Good organization and ability to multitask.
• Friendly personality with the desire to work with the public.
