About Cadia
Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.
We acknowledge the Wiradjuri people, traditional custodians of the land surrounding Cadia, and proudly run an Indigenous Buddy Program to enrich the workplace experience our Indigenous employees. Who we’re looking for
Reporting to the Director People Business Partners, the Lead People Business Partner, Projects will be supporting key projects departments at Newmont Cadia.
With your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, you will provide HR advice and assistance to the site Projects team/s and key stakeholder group in remit.
Additionally, the Lead must have the ability to maintain neutrality throughout their dealings with multiple stakeholders & employees, driving best practice and upholding the Newmont values by way of discretion and confidentiality.
Other key responsibilities include:
Provide advice, services and support in relation to recruitment, retention and workforce planningIdentify talent, co-ordinate development opportunities, co-ordinate site succession plansAssist with workplace/organisation restructuring and/or downsizing with minimal industrial impact, eg (conducting redundancy activities and implementing new roster arrangements);Contribute to the development of learning and development programs and performance support material through designing innovative learning and assessment strategies to improve the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of current learning practices, processes and systemsProvide coaching for quality development and performance conversations, management reports and guidance to line management and employees to ensure the effective use of Newcrest’s people systems, including:Collating and providing management information to ensure performance and development planning, reviews and calibration activities are completed.Contribute to and analysis of remuneration benchmarking data;Compilation of reports, analysis of HR data, and recommending appropriate action to address emerging trends
The ideal candidate will be an experienced industry HR practitioner with significant experience in a supporting, projects HR role.
You will also possess the following:
Tertiary Qualification in Human Resources – Essential Demonstrated HR Experience in supporting projects in a heavy industry or civil – Essential Mining or heavy industry experience – Preferred Significant demonstrated experience in a Human Resources role. Knowledge of human resources principles and relevant legislation, with the ability to demonstrate discretion and confidentiality.
Please note this is a 5/2 or 5/2 – 4/3 residential role based in Orange NSW.
