Aon is looking for a Lead People Partner, Canada Located in Toronto, the Lead People Partner, Canada will report to the North America Chief People Officer, responsible for leading the people organization teams and will partner closely with business leaders to drive a strategic talent strategy in alignment with the goals of the business. This leader is responsible for leading organizational change and to help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting all 5 Aon Solution Lines, as part of our People Organization. Your impact: In this role, you will be accountable for partnering closely with the business leaders to achieve their strategic objectives as well as lead the broader Canada People Organization. Your team of People/HR Business Partners are responsible for leading alongside business leadership to achieve our strategic initiatives. Job Responsibilities: + Work closely with business leaders to create strategy and direction for alignment of Aon’s talent programs to business goals. + Create trusted relationships with business leadership teams to influence and enable leaders to implement the strategic growth agenda. + Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of Aon's overall business model and how to align HR/People programs within the context of business results and performance. + Build a strong performance culture in conjunction with business leaders, employing tools and resources that promote and reinforce high-performance enabling behaviors. + Provide strong leadership to the country people team, supporting them in providing insight, and addressing talent programs for the business, as well as in making appropriate connection points across the People Organization functions. + Based on business requirements, engage on leading all HR matters related to M&A activity. More specifically, the Lead People Partner, Canada will be accountable for: Developing a broad understanding of all Aon HR/People Programs and is responsible for execution of all major HR/People initiatives across Canada on both an annual and ad-hoc basis. Specifically, this includes: + Annual Pay Review Cycle(s) + Performance Planning Process + Global Talent Management Review + Annual Engagement Analysis and Review + Implementation of any new or updated People initiative + Workforce Planning Initiatives + Liaison on senior level employee relations issues and working in close partnership with aligned HR Connect (e.g. Employee Relations) team and the business Build and Develop Organizational Capabilities (Talent Management/Organizational Consulting) + Partners with business leaders in support of development and retention efforts to ensure we have right staff and capability to deliver on our strategy. + Acts as coach and mentor to leaders and high performing colleagues as it pertains to their overall career development and progression. + Works with leaders to ensure performance management is being effectively deployed in support of our high-performance culture. + Partners with Talent Acquisition and business to assess needs and workforce planning strategies. You Bring Knowledge and Expertise The ideal candidate will be a proven high caliber leader in the HR field or with relevant business experience who understands the key role of HR as a business partner and is passionate about talent management and the opportunity to champion change. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to consult, influence and partner with senior leaders in developing/executing people strategies and the gravitas to drive business performance. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following competencies: Business Acumen/Judgment: 10+ years of in-depth experience in a global and complex organization. S/he will be high energy and self-confident, with deep HR technical skills, or willing to expand her-his HR knowledge, solid financial skills and a strong commercial orientation. Successful experience in providing outstanding HR client support as a trusted, business driven, results oriented leader. Change Management: You will have a proven ability to set priorities and manage a team and organization through a strategic change mandate. You have a track record of providing active counsel and collaborative problem-solving support to facilitate change. Team Leadership: Known as an inspirational leader having developed and retained high-performing teams through continuous learning, honest feedback, rigorous development and disciplined talent management. You have demonstrated an ability to coach senior level leaders as well as HR team members. Relationship Building/Influence: Demonstrated ability to build strong trust-based working relationships with stakeholders at all levels and effectively be able to operate at a broader business-oriented platform. Excellent consulting, collaborative, influencing and partnering abilities with business executives/leaders and HR partners. You bring a strong external professional network.
