Lead Phlebotomist Nights
**Lead Phlebotomist - full time, nights position in the Laboratory Unit at Lutheran Health Network - Lutheran Hospital** _Previous phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting required_ + Full time: 40 hours/week; 9p-7a (4x10s) + Must be able/willing to lead AM draw + Sign on bonus eligible! + Other incentives include: Robust medical, vision, dental, 401k plans available for Full-Time and Part-Time roles that can include you, your spouse, or your entire family! **Job Summary:** Under the direction of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, provides support to phlebotomy staff in the identification, collection, logging, processing, and distribution of laboratory specimens and results. Assists the Phlebotomy Supervisor with initial orientation and ongoing associate training, as well as the auditing of accuracy and quality in specimen collection processes and phlebotomy skills. Responsible for teaching monthly phlebotomy courses to nurses and other hospital staff. Responsible for performance and quality metrics. Serves as an ongoing technical resource and point of contact for phlebotomy activities across shifts. **Minimal Acceptable Job Qualifications** **Education/Registration/Certification:** Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED). **Experience:** One to three years of phlebotomy experience to include pediatric, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Prior processing and or leadership experience a plus. **Job Knowledge & Skills:** + Requires working knowledge of the normal growth, development, related behaviors, needs, comfort,and range of treatment appropriate to the age (including neonate, child, adolescent, aging adult) anddiagnosis of patient served to support the provision of an individualized multidisciplinary plan of care. + Requires excellent organizational skills in order to keep operations flowing efficiently with nointerruption in services and to maintain all related documentation per policies and procedures.Requires knowledge of laboratory testing, medical terminology, data entry, reporting procedures, andrelated equipment in order to process specimens appropriately. + Requires a working understanding of laboratory policies and procedures in regard to specimencollection, processing, testing and reporting; in addition to the operation and maintenance of relatedequipment in order to support uninterrupted services in assigned areas. + Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact effectivelywith all internal and external unit customers, as needed and to effectively educate all departmentalstaff. + Demonstrates a working knowledge of the English language, both verbal and written. + Demonstrates well developed interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact withinternal and external customers.
