Lead Physical Therapist - Tuckahoe Orthopaedics & Physical Therapy - Richmond, VA

Rehabilitation leads are subspecialist within the clinic that help to coordinate care and implement new programs.  Leads are well read subject experts that help the department supervisors with; protocol development, implementing new programs, training staff and mentoring within their subspecialty along with general staff education.  Leads are program champions that help to foster and grow new programs based on patient/clinic needs and market opportunities.  Rehab Leads assist with clinic operations including; staffing assessments and reviews, metric tracking and physician education.  Rehabiliation leads help to implement Rehab services for physician referred and self-referred patients according to standards of practice of the profession, laws governing practice by the State of Ohio, and facility and department policies and procedures.

Provides operational, clinical and financial direction to a single rehab department / facility.Assists in the development and implementation of programs, growth strategies directed towards increasing patient volumes and market share.Ensure the highest level of clinical care and operational efficiency, achieve financial targets, and ensure program integration within the Bon Secours system.Supervises clinical staff and front office staff on locationDemonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, and problem solving and productivity enhancement in a flexible team fashionProvides patient care

JOB REQUIREMENTS

College degree (Associates or higher) and active licensure in a physical rehabilitation field (PT, OT, SLP, COTA, LPTA, RT);Three years experience as a rehabilitation therapist in the desired setting (OP, IP, ARU, HH, SNF)Education/experience in working with an adult and geriatric population is necessaryEducation/experience with outpatient program/services and pediatric/adolescent populations is desirableStrong interpersonal, communication and clinical skills.

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

Provides operational, clinical and financial direction to a single rehab department / facility.Assists in the development and implementation of programs, develop strategies directed towards patient volumes and market trends.Ensure the highest level of clinical care and operational efficiency, achieve financial targets, and ensure program integration within the Bon Secours Health System.Supervises clinical staff and front office staff on locationResponsible for providing a full range of therapy services including assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions in a team environment consistent with the incumbent’s qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards.Demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, and problem solving and productivity enhancement in a flexible team fashion.

Employment Qualifications

The incumbent shall have a college degree (Associates or higher) and active state licensure in a physical rehabilitation field i.e. PT, OT, COTA, LPTA.At least three years’ experience as Rehab Therapist in the desired setting (OP, IP, ARU, HH, and/or SNF) preferred, but not required.Strong interpersonal, communication and clinical skills.Experience working with adult and geriatric populations is desirable.Current BLS certification required or obtained within ninety days of completing new employee orientation.

Essential Job Functions

Works with Rehab Manager to development operational and capital budgets for clinic.Works with Rehab Manager to develop and implement operational and growth strategies to achieve/exceed financial targets.Develops and implements opportunities to continually improve clinical excellence in all areas.Develops and implements opportunities to continually improve operational efficiency while maintaining focus on clinical excellence and patient satisfaction.Works closely with Rehab Manager to determine appropriate staffing matrix.Participates in interviews and hiring process for clinical staff; leads orientation and training of all new hires.Assists with and provide coaching, counseling and training and job expectation to new and existing employees.Establishes a work environment that allows for the recruitment and retention of clinical and administrative staff; implement strategies to exceed world class status with employee engagement.Mentors and develops the clinical and leadership skills, expertise and performance of all staff.Implements new clinical programs to meet community needs and support key service line strategic initiatives.Develops and implements clinical programs to support the Bon Secours Medical Group, especially in the area of orthopedics.Implements opportunities to integrate Rehab into other programs, services, service line initiatives.Identifies and creates opportunities to partner with community groups in the areas of program implementation, sponsorship and mission service.As appropriate, participate as a member of the Bon Secours Leadership Teams—communicating policy, procedure, mission and message between leadership and staff.Develops and implements strategies to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction in all areas, participates in all employee engagement exercises.Assures site compliance and readiness for Joint Commission and State surveys.Assures site compliance with all regulatory and clinical requirements and competencies.Participate in program quality management activities.Provides direct patient care; supervises direct patient care.Many of our opportunities reward* your hard work with:
