Location: Although this position does support some teleworking, you will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Littleton, CO and be expected to work in the office as needed and as appropriate, no less than two days a week.
What does this role look like?
We are looking for you to be the principal investigator for power related internal research & development projects, responsible for development of high power system technologies and systems that enable architectures on the lunar surface and within nuclear powered space vehicles.
Key activities you will accomplish in this role:
• Technology roadmap development
• Leading power simulation efforts
• Establishing system requirements & interface definitions
• Schematic design & analysis
• Develop test plans efforts
• Engage program management & customers as needed to inform internal strategies
• Typical tools used in this role include MATLAB (including Simulink and LabVIEW), Spice/PSpice, OrCAD, Saber, Zuken, and potential other analytical tools.
• Collaborate across the technology team and with business development to develop discriminating technologies to develop and win new business.
To be effective in this role, you will need:
• 14+ years professional experience; 12+ years with Masters degree.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on Power Systems Engineering or equivalent
• Prior experience in electrical engineering within the aerospace industry
• Experience creating and analyzing electrical schematics
Desired Skills:
• Prior experience as the lead Power Systems Engineer on a space flight program
• Experience using the following tools: MATLAB (including Simulink and LabVIEW), Spice/PSpice, OrCAD, Saber, Zuken, and relevant programing languages used for electrical analyses
• Experience with terrestrial power distribution standards, including power conversion (AC/DC and DC/DC), high-voltage power distribution (>120V), nuclear power systems, and/or relevant microgrid standards including operational system communications implementation
• Experience with worse case circuit analysis of circuit card assemblies
• Experience with various data dissemination tools such as Confluence, SharePoint, etc
• Experience with agile development
• Desire and ability to proactively own technical challenges from identification through to delivering solutions
• Ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent fields (systems engineering, electronics, stress/thermal analysis, configuration management, production, test, quality…)
• Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience in leading teams for electronics hardware development
• Experience deriving system requirements and interface documentation for electronic hardware design from customer specification and government standards
• Experience testing, troubleshooting, qualifying, and delivering electronics hardware
• Proficiency with common laboratory engineering tools including oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, digital multi-meters, and other support equipment
• Proven ability to solve complex/integrated systems engineering challenges

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $118,100 - $226,400. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
