The Polymerics Manufacturing Team has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Process Engineer with a focus on Continuous Improvement and Productivity. This position will drive continuous and step-change improvements in the manufacturing plant across EH&S, Quality, Productivity, and Reliability.

The candidate will be responsible for:

Works with multifunctional teams to optimize operations/processes to meet Business and plant goals (Environmental, Health & Safety, Production, Quality, Productivity, Cost, reliability)

Helps to drive continuous improvement mindset on the production floor through relationship building, trainings, projects, and kaizen events

Provides technical expertise and strategic direction to improve our competitive advantage for one or more technology areas

Works closely with Operations Area Managers, Operators, and Polymerics Process Engineers to capture and execute improvement efforts

Acts as point person to collaborate with Manufacturing Technology group, Product Quality group, and Global Technology Guardian to ensure successful new technology introduction, qualification, and transfer to manufacturing

Monitors scheduling and downtime metrics to identify areas of improvement

Analyzes SPC data to identify and lead continuous improvement projects focused on variation reduction

Supports unit-wide Operational Excellence conformance

Serve as analyst for productivity software and reporting tools, liaison between development teams and operations floor

Provides technical consultation to others during process upsets and assume a leadership role in technical project teams

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and present valid conclusions to diverse audiences

Ability to create and deliver concise and compelling presentations

Facilitates/participates in root cause investigations to prevent recurrence of unplanned events and coaches others to learn these skills

Identifies and evaluates improvement opportunities in operations and reliability

Mentorship of early career Process Engineers, serve as one of the Focal Points for Co-Ops

Manage Continuous Improvement program and project savings metrics

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering 

Green Belt Certification preferred

Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience (manufacturing, reliability, engineering, etc.)

The ability to strategize and lead from the front, able to take a "hands-on" approach with operators, technicians, and engineers to drive change and get results

Influential leadership capacity

The ability to solve problems and prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with operations, maintenance, and other functional groups
