OPPORTUNITY
A Process Lead Engineer Paint Shop will be responsible for leadership and development of a Process Engineers and Paint Application Team, end-to-end ownership of all inputs and outputs into a section of the Paint Shop Serial Manufacturing Engineering Process, including current activities (SQDCPE) and process creation/adjustment.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Lead the team in the activity of process creation/updating & stability assurance, including delivery process characteristics in adherence to JLR Standards and Customer expectations. Lead the team in the activity of delivery and control of all current manufacturing processes for serial production. Creation and ownership of Current Process Manufacturing Engineering documentation as PFMEA, Control Plans. Responsibility for transfer PFMEA demands to Control plan and to Working instruction with supportive documentation as Risk Assessment, Validation of processes etc. Monitoring and adjustment of defined KPI based on Control Plan is in responsibility this role. Developing and improving measure methods. Responsible for delivering SPC, MSA and calibration devices requirements. New colours introduction. New materials introduction. Ensuring Paint Shop CME team meet compliance with Global Paint Manufacturing standard. Leading product & process concerns tracking & resolution through appropriate tool (e.g. PDCA, Solvedio, IQM). Responsible for MQOS & IATF audit readiness, preparation and reaction. Coordination of data analysis and reporting of major issues, using problem solving tools. Achieving and surpassing quality metrics, FTT, CFA, 0MIS, 3MIS for mass production. Responsible for the introduction of efficient processes, considering BMV, HPC, HPU, OPR impact and headcount impact, within their relative areas. Capture and implementation of lessons learnt. Strong leadership skills and ownership of KPI’s within the relevant area of responsibility. Flexible and agile. Strong presentation skills, ready to create and deliver presentations for senior managers in senior forum’s.
WHAT YOU´LL NEED
Relevant previous experience of Paint Shop Manufacturing / Engineering processes, tools and techniques including consistent delivery of productivity targets in Manufacturing. Demonstrable knowledge of Material application at the Paint Shop processes. Previous experience of leading teams in Manufacturing. IATF, SPC, MSA skilled Proficient level of English language to have the ability to present in senior forums and to engineering teams in the UK. Strong experience in the application of a logical approach to Problem Solving and problem-solving tools. Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision to deliver key objectives, with a “my business” approach. Computer literacy – Microsoft office Knowledge of PFMEA/Design for assembly principles/Control plan Demonstrable ability to create detailed and effective action plans. Demonstrable ability to lead a team of engineers and hourly team members to deliver the ME department scorecard metrics.
