Summary: This role will manage procurement related activities for all commodities purchased for Motive Equipment. Will be responsible for managing PO placement as well as building relationship with corresponding set of suppliers to maximize Supplier On time delivery (OTD). This role will serve as the point of contact between the vendors and shop ensuring there are no material impacts to the production lines. The role requires previous proven experience on procurement and requires a strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant purchasing and sourcing concepts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following, other duties may be assigned:
Maintain daily standard work and achieve weekly Fulfillment metricsOwns all aspects of the PO Management cycle such as accurate vendor lead time management, timely PO Placement & PO Change execution to exception messages, supplier promise dates, shipment tracking & delivery to WABTECs dock. Treats in a timely manner the ERP error messages, ordering and expediting materials as required to ensure on time delivery.Improves day –to-day supplier relationships and facilitates ocean or air shipment decision to ensure on time product delivery.Develops the adequate contingencies (recovery plans), when required, with the suppliers.Works in accordance with the supplier, sets OTD progress objectives and delivers within targeted time frames. Utilizes planning concepts & Oracle planning techniques to optimize material availability, drive advanced material programs (i.e. Vendor Managed Inventory) & improve material presentation.Manages effective communication of material delivery expectations with internal shop customers.Analyze Vendor Promises in established future horizon and proactively communicate and seek resolution (improvements, alternatives) with supplier when promises don’t meet business needs.Own and Resolve day to day issues with vendor – AP Issues, NCMR Resolution, Delivery Issues, Lead Times Accuracy, Escalations. Work cross functionally with Engineering, Sourcing and Quality Teams to resolve material issues when requiredBalance both tactical execution with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projects. Excel based supply/demand analysisEducation and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or collegeAt least 4 years of experience in Sourcing or Procurement or Materials Planning & Scheduling.Key Qualifications:
Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Excel, Power-point and ERP systems. (Oracle)Strong Analytical Skills & strong written and verbal communication skills.Desired Qualifications:
