Lead Product Designer

A Day in the Life:

As the Design Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire design process, from conceptualization to implementation and maintenance of fleet reporting systems. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, including the design team, data analysts, developers, and stakeholders, to gather requirements to design intuitive user interfaces, and ensure a seamless user experience.

 

What You’ll Do:

Lead the design process, including conducting or reviewing user research, creating wireframes, and developing interactive prototypes for reporting systems. Lead a team of designers on the project, managing and monitoring work to ensure deadlines are met and work is high quality.  Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into functional design specifications. Collaborate with the design manager to establish design strategies, backed by research findings and business requirements. Ensure a consistent and visually appealing design language across all reporting systems. (Design System) Conduct/manage usability testing and gather user feedback to iterate and improve the design of reporting interfaces. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior & mid-level designers within the team. Collaborate with developers to ensure the successful implementation of designs and resolve any design-related issues during development/post development.  Mentor and guide team members, helping them develop and grow.

 

What We’re Looking For:

7+ years of experience in UX design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating your design skills. Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills. Strong knowledge of research and design tools such as Mural, Figma, InVision, Dovetail, Survey Monkey, Google Forms.  Experience leading design projects and mentoring junior designers. A passion for solving complex design problems and creating user-centred experiences. Experience using quantitative and qualitative research to inform design iteration. Skilled at prototyping and quick thinking. Excellent design and communications capabilities.

 

What You’ll Strive For:

Department focus areas include delivery of fleet reporting products to Hertz operations. Successful performance in key areas including onboarding, mentoring and delivering successful products. Key Performance Metric 1 – Onboard new resources to team to support fleet reporting . Key Performance Metric 2 – Deliver VAW & Janus Fleet Reporting Applications. Key Performance Metric 3 – Unify all Fleet reporting apps into a seamless experience and cohesive UI.
