Lead Product Engineer
Overview Job Purpose The Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) is seeking an Atlanta based Lead Product Engineer to join the Head Office located Clearing Risk Technology Department. As Lead Product Engineer you will possess a broad skillset which bridges business and technology disciplines. You will leverage your skills to research, manage and communicate complex topics to a wide audience. Key to the role will be seamless communication between the Business, Technology and Quality Assurance teams. At the ICE you will play an instrumental role in delivering systems critical to the clearing services underpinning global banks and worldwide commodity traders. This exciting role requires transforming complex business problems into precise implementable system requirements and owning the process front-to-back. You will be responsible for producing functional specifications of exceptional quality and clarity consisting of written use-cases and logical flow artifacts. You will be adept at understanding existing systems and how to accommodate new functionality optimally, be it through organic improvements or clean rewrites. As an integral member of the Clearing Risk Technology Department, you will bridge the gap between software developers and business users. The ideal candidate will have successfully brought complex requirements to fruition against a backdrop of competing priorities. You will be proficient in time management and a keen listener with the innate ability to draw the detail from high level requirements and prototypes. Responsibilities Work with business users across ICE Clearing houses to formulate detailed systems requirements, workflows, and use case analysis for new enhancement requests. Organise and run requirements gathering sessions, reviews and issue resolution involving multiple stakeholders and time zones. Interact with the technology team to provide written functional requirements for data analytics requests, and validate the output meets the business needs. Assess the impact that new systems and features have on existing systems and communicate those impacts to the appropriate internal teams and stakeholders. Develop analysis artifacts including use-cases, activity diagrams, user-interface schematics, business rules, technical specifications, process flows, and API documentation. Use of data analyses tools, (i.e., SQL, Excel, R) to understand and develop business requirements. Enforce change-control procedures to ensure stakeholder approved requirement changes are clearly communicated to the development team. Assist database developers in creating and maintaining up to date documentation of the data model and field level mappings. Participate in system design & QA test case reviews. Knowledge and Experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Economics or Finance, or related discipline Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Systems Analysis, preferably within the trading / banking sector dealing with derivative instruments; regulatory awareness is a plus. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an ability to explain complex ideas and technical details; ability to understand Quantitative concepts and mathematical documentation. Strong data analysis skills and familiarity with Oracle SQL or other database access tools Experienced understanding of use case analysis and documentation Experience working with development teams within a structured SDLC; including DB & Java developers. Experience with business intelligence reporting tools, such as Tableau or Business Objects Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) Personal Attributes Initiative-taker with proven ability and initiative to learn new concepts, ideas, and technologies. Excellent analytical thinking, organizational skills, and demonstrable critical thinking skills. Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
