Lead Product Performance Engineer

The Technology Development team encompasses specialists who provides technical leadership in the fields of flow, thermal management, acoustic and vibration, structural dynamics and mechanics of materials broken up into teams defined as Product Performance, Acoustics, Technical Systems, Simulation and Principals.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Deliver top level performance metrics on a full product complexity project with multiple attachments, resolving complex problems without precedents either through established approach or defining one.  Assess multiple viewpoints independently and determine technical direction for project or specialist areas.Plan and prioritize tasks to drive a coherent requirement definition to ensure consistent development of performance throughout the product development.Drive analysis of data, ensure robust test methodology and conclusive proposals for timely delivery of solutions and verification reports using advanced competency in MATLAB, Minitab, Excel and/or python. Collaborate across diverse stakeholders, often managing familiar and less challenging internal customers, to deliver optimum performance for user’s benefit. Influence and provide options for optimal trade-offs to balance performance-related factors such as flowrate, acoustics, thermals, design, vision, claims etc. Work with the Product Performance Manager to lead the performance team in PH, defining structures and frameworks for long term collaboration with other teams, ensuring delivery gaps are closed out and new knowledge acquired documented. Drive team to support and achieve departmental goals. Mentor and coach junior engineers.

Experience Required:

At least a Bachelor degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent, preferred applicants to have a Master degree.8 years of experience in mechanical product design & development in the field of mechanical engineering preferably in the consumer electrical appliance industry.In-depth knowledge & experience of experimental methodologies & techniques for core disciplineCompetent in the use and application of CAD/CAE tools in general. Experience in the UG and ANSYS suite of products is preferred for ideal collaboration with teams.Strong written & verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly, concisely & confidently present & articulate ideas to larger cross-category groups from a variety of areas, often with Management attendees. Proficient in clear, concise communication of ideas & concepts, frequently tailoring communication to suit different levels.Demonstrated ability to persuade & influence others when appropriate, typically within a project team
