Reporting to the Assistant Manager – Production Planning & Supply Management, the Lead Production Scheduler is responsible for examining and analyzes production specifications and capacity data, optimizing production throughput to meet customer demand. Leading a team of Material planners and running SOP discussions to ensure customer satisfaction.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Lead a team of Material Planners ensuring requirements are executed to plan and on-timeEffectively and efficiently schedule resources that support the needs of the customer.Support process improvements pertaining to customer service and operational KPIs. Work with the department leads to set and maintain the capacity levels within our ERP system.Complete status reports for production progress and work in process.Monitor priorities, execution commitments and review the production plans and deliveries.Measure the on-time performance of resources Create and publish daily/weekly production plans.Coordinate changes in schedulesParticipate in setting production scheduling metrics/targets.Follow up with lead hands/supervisors during shift meetings to determine if work is on schedule.Execute SOP meetings ensuring Sales and Operations are alignedParticipate and lead Kaizen eventsMinimum Requirements
Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management or Operations Management Degree in Industrial Engineering an asset.APICS professional designation in CPIM, CSCP considered an asset. 5 years of experience in production planning, demand scheduling, master scheduling, capacity planning, procurement, or equivalent supply chain role. Experience leading a team.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Experience with the use of ERP systems with a preference for using Oracle.Lean Manufacturing exposureAbility to adapt to meet changing needs.Collaborative team player who enjoys working across departments and teams.Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.Proficient in MS applications, ERP software, Oracle and other relevant software.High level of attention to detail.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Physical Effort:
Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 5kg/11lbs
