Lead Program Planner

Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Lead Program Planner to join our growing team.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position is located on-site in Hamilton, WA. 

The Lead Program Planner's primary responsibility is program planning, project requirement planning, and scope planning. This role involves leading a program and coordinating with various departments to ensure efficient project execution, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to schedules.

 

The Lead Program Planner supports Project Management and Operations in the design, creation, and execution of project schedules and budgets using SAP Project Management software. This position provides support to Project Management, Operations Management, and Accounting by performing a variety of requested tasks, project schedule performance, critical path analysis, job cost tracking, and global/project performance. The role also requires collaboration with various departments to ensure project performance, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to schedules.

The position requires execution of the following essential job functions:

Lead the program planning for a full program, providing guidance and support to ensure effective project planning and execution Facilitate communication and coordination among team members, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines Create and maintain detailed project schedules in SAP using templates and calculators or based on SOW, drawings/proposals Enter WBS/activity details, resource loading/budgeting, activity durations, logic, and relationships Define the critical path for projects and monitor schedule and budget performance Communicate with Project Managers and Operations Managers about schedule needs including, but not limited to: flowing down project information from one part to another, linking work products and documents to activities, making PDFs of documents, and running work orders when needed Meet with Program Management, and customers to provide schedule support for large projects Create reports about project cost and schedule performance Perform critical path analysis, job cost tracking, and project performance assessments Utilize statistical analysis and modeling techniques to improve project planning and execution Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement strategies to enhance project performance and reduce waste Field daily schedule and budget questions and concerns from Program Management and Operations Management; understand business systems, procedures, and processes and how they are integrated Stay updated with the activities associated with each process performed, requiring knowledge of materials, scheduled durations, and cell capabilities Visit work cells to observe processes, learn about operations, and update project statuses Implement and oversee lean manufacturing and continuous improvement strategies to enhance project performance and reduce waste Drive process improvement initiatives and monitor their impact on project efficiency and effectiveness Perform other duties as assigned

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).  Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

QUALIFICATIONS

MUST BE U.S. CITIZEN OR LEGAL PERMANENT RESIDENT FOR THIS POSITION.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 

Degree in Industrial & Management Systems Engineering or a related field Proficiency in SAP Project Management software Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Knowledge of lean manufacturing, process improvement, and project management methodologies Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Proven leadership and team management skills Extensive experience in project planning and execution Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role within a similar environment is preferred. Demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines Exhibit cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors at all times. Maintain punctuality and good attendance as a condition of employment and an essential function of the job

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

Wage range for this role is between $75,000 and $115,000 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
