Role Overview:

The Lead Project Engineer is responsible for supporting design, analysis and testing of GE Rockford (Loves Park) products. This support includes new product development, field issues, research, and production support. The products include bleed air pneumatic valves and linear actuators, used in aerospace applications. This role is located onsite in Loves Park, IL.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Subject matter expert on pneumatic, hydraulic, or fuel actuated valves.Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products.Leader in new product development, de-risking of a technology (technology maturation) and directing technical team members.In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work.In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 7 years of experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or fuel actuated valves)Minimum of 3 years of experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or fuel actuated valves

Preferred Qualifications:

8+ years of experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or fuel actuated valvesExperience with aviation actuators, fans, and blowers.Knowledge with CAD, preferably SolidWorks and/or NX.Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.Demonstrated background in new product development, technology maturation, and directing technical team members.Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.Knowledge of tollgate process and aviation FAR 25 and FAR 33 certificationsFamiliarity with AS9100Familiarity with LEAN methodology and principals.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
