Job Description SummaryAs related customer equipment, faciliaties or infrastructure projects: responsible for project delivery, profit & loss accountability, and customer satisfaction through management of project related activities and resources. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Roles and Responsibilities

Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, monitor and control project progress, ensuring alignment with overall objectives and key milestones.Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, commissioning, and quality assurance.Manage project risks and develop mitigation strategies to address potential delays, cost overruns, or technical issues.Provide regular updates to senior management and clients on project status, performance, and potential risks.Oversee the design, engineering, and integration of power generation, distribution, and propulsion systems, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and industry standards.Ensure that all systems, including electric power generation, propulsion motors, switchgear, and control systems, meet regulatory requirements (e.g., DNV GL, ABS, IMO) and operational demands.Work closely with procurement teams to manage vendor selection, contracts, and negotiations for equipment related to power and propulsion systems.Coordinate with equipment suppliers and shipyards to ensure timely delivery and installation of critical components.Monitor project costs, ensuring adherence to budgets and identifying opportunities for cost optimization. Prepare financial reports and forecasts, managing any budgetary changes as required.Ensure all project activities comply with industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.Oversee the commissioning and testing phases, ensuring all systems are operational and meet regulatory certifications before handover.Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including status reports, risk assessments, and lessons learned.Ensure proper project closure, including post-project evaluations and documentation handover.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.PMP certification or equivalent project management certification is highly preferred.8+ years of experience in project management within the maritime or oil and gas industries, specifically in power and propulsion systems for drill ships, FLNG, FSRU, and LNG carriers.Strong technical knowledge of electric propulsion systems, power generation, and distribution equipment used in maritime vessels.Familiarity with industry regulations and certification processes (e.g., DNV GL, ABS, IMO standards).Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and diverse stakeholders.Proven ability to manage large, complex projects within tight deadlines and budgets.Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
