Position Specific Description

The Electronic Payment’s team is responsible for managing FPL's portfolio of payment options which process of over $50MM daily. With over 91% of customer payments received electronically, the team leverages data and advanced analytical tools to monitor system health of all payment channels and works with stakeholders to identify and address opportunities. The team ensures we deliver a consistent and seamless payment experience to our customers through both internal and vendor powered channels via a 24/7 operations. The team also drives strategic initiatives with various business partners to maintain the integrity of our current payment options and seeks to offer new alternative options to our customers.


The ideal candidate should have experience in leading teams through complex technical and system issues and performing detailed analysis. Project management experience, including working with internal customers, vendors, and IT is preferred. Experience with CIS and SAP is desired as the team supports both systems. 24/7 operations requires extended hours as needed to meet the operational requirements of the team. 


•    Leads project teams, serving as a payment’s subject matter expect (SME) on various high visibility projects running in parallel
•    Leads the coordination and execution of strategic initiatives and system changes
•    Works with payment vendors and financial institutions to ensure agreed upon service level agreements are met
•    Leads and mentors a team of analyst
•    Supports management of the electronic payment portfolio and ensures key metrics in electronic payment adoption are met
•    Manages the availability of payment channels by addressing system issues as they occur
•    Works with Care Center, CIX, M&C and IT to ensure electronic payments systems are optimized
•    Ensures compliance with all applicable SOX, internal/external audit and State/Federal agency requirements.
•    Ensures compliance with all payment related laws and regulations (i.e. NACHA, Reg. E, EFT Act, etc.)
