Lead QA Engineer
Overview Job Purpose The Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE) presents a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and address complex business challenges in the financial sector. The ICE Lead QA position plays a key role in testing and delivering trading, listing, compliance and surveillance applications, while supporting all stages of the Software Development Life-Cycle (SDLC). The successful candidate will be able to multitask in a dynamic team-based environment, while demonstrating strong problem-solving, extensive technical skills, decision-making abilities and the highest level of professionalism. The candidate is also expected to have a strong programming etiquette and excellent business knowledge/experience. Responsibilities Lead Quality Engineer must be able to do session level, functional, technical, failover and performance testing across the entire stack – application, hardware, firmware, OS and network. Applies business and functional knowledge to develop end-to-end testing strategies using quality processes and methodologies to accelerate delivery and drive quality across the application lifecycle Review code base and make recommendations for testing scenarios; analyze changes introduced and assess the technical testing required. Assist in determining test methodology and test data setup Actively participate in grooming, planning and daily standups Execute test scenarios/test cases during formal test periods for every release Diagnose problems and report bugs and enhancements to Development Responsible for documenting clear and detailed defects including steps to reproduce actual and expected results Build regression and acceptance test scenarios Perform functional and End to End tests Perform automation test suite with testing frameworks like Selenium, Play-write, Puppeteer, JUnit, or TestNG Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality is built into the product development process. Work with cross-functional teams to build scenarios in requirements, design and coding phases. Communicate testing progress, results, and issues to stakeholders, including senior management. Create test scripts and testcases to cover broad range of scenarios and ensure traceability and validation against business requirements. Take the initiative to improve efficiencies across systems/projects. Applies testing methodologies, principles and processes to define and implement key metrics to manage and assess the testing process including test execution and defect resolution. Knowledge and Experience Minimum qualifications: The applicant is expected to have the following skills and experience on appointment Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field. 5+ years of experience in software development, QA, and Automation (Java., JavaScript). Strong knowledge of Java programming language, Selenium, Restful APIs. Proficient in GitHub, TestNG, Maven, Postman, and Jenkins. Experience with JIRA for Agile Development, Defect Management, and Test Case Management. Automation expertise in frameworks, backend API, and UI. In-depth experience with Agile methodology and Scrum. Familiarity with relational databases and intermediate SQL. Must have 4+ years of Linux/Unix experience. Red Hat is preferred. 5+ years of relevant experience including software design, development, testing and deployment. Intermediate to advanced programming/scripting knowledge in Python, Perl.] Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work in a highly demanding and fast-paced environment. Ability to multitask and work independently on multiple projects. Ability to differentiate between a critical business impacting incident and a minor problem, and resolve/escalate accordingly. Preferred qualifications: Experience with Trading and financial applications is a plus. Knowledge of FIX or Multicast protocol is a plus. Experience with supporting production changes, UAT testing and debugging prod issues. New York Base Salary Range The expected base salary for this role if located in New York City is between $123,600 - 164,800 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange’s incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual.
