Job DescriptionUltra Precision Control Systems (PCS) are looking for a Lead Quality Engineer -Goods Inwards Inspection to effectively lead a team responsible for the Inspection of Goods received into the business with responsibility to meet the needs of the business and deliver against commitments.Assure that processes are being followed in accordance with the requirements of the Business Management System (BMS) and to lead resolution processes where this is not the case.
Identify, verify, maintain and recommend quality and business improvement processes within the business and the supply chain required to maintain company quality approvals.
Work closely with all levels of internal and external customers including approval authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the Goods Inwards Inspection teamDevelop and approve Inspection Processes and Plans for the verification of incoming productEnsure the maintenance and calibration status of all tooling within the areaIdentify and deploy new inspection tooling and equipment to support the verification of productProactively lead by good example and manage all direct reports to achieve business strategy and departmental objectivesManage Inspection priorities and KPI and coordinate with the Organisational customersSupport of any investigations arising from Quality issues through to their documented conclusion, with supporting root cause analysis and solutions to prevent re-occurrenceManage completion and effectiveness of Corrective and Preventative measuresTo ensure effective and timely issue of status and audit reports, supporting evidence and KPI’s for the QA/Compliance functionTake an active part in the development and review of departmental measuresSupport of external Quality audits, assessments and visits by customers and authoritiesEnsuring that regular area checks are performed, reported and any associated issues are effectively resolvedSupport in the coordination and facilitation of timely responses and resolution of quality issues identifiedAssist with the generation of Quality Plans and proposalsSupport in the generation of First Article Reports internally as well as any associated customer facing activities for product verification.Support customer or supplier Source Inspection or Delegate Product Review Verification activitiesFacilitation of concession applications and engineering change requestsEnsure the departmental objectives are achieved in line with the job holders individual objectivesPerform duties in accordance with company policies, procedures and processesDevelop and support of a business improvement culture and associated activities e.g. process mapping, lean, continuous improvements etc.Assist with the maintenance of company approvals e.g. EASA/CAA, FAR, ISO, AS etc. to maintain airworthinessTo regularly conduct performance reviews including PDRs with direct reports, providing constructive and positive feedback, agreeing SMART objectives and addressing underperformanceIdentifying training needs, coaching and developing direct reports, sharing appropriate information and knowledge to enable others to grow and develop in their role and progress their careersThere may be additional activities to perform from time to time in order to maximise the contribution to Ultra Electronics PCS goals and objectivesRequired Skills & Experience:
