Summary:
Manages and coordinates the necessary resources to provide safe and efficient patient care within assigned area. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills to maintain open communication within a multidisciplinary team. Assists in the provision of care to patients of age groups specific to assigned area. Position covers Emergency Department, primarily day shift but some night shifts may be required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Graduate of an accredited program of professional nursing. BSN preferred or obtained within 2 years.
Possess current license as a registered nurse from the State of Ohio.
Must possess interpersonal skills sufficient to provide effective leadership for a multidisciplinary specialty team.
Must possess analytical ability to coordinate and manage an area within assigned area.
Work requires level of knowledge of assigned area and procedures and methods generally acquired through five years in assigned area. Required to obtain and maintain certification in specialty area if available (e.g., CNOR, ASPAN, ACLS).
Provides care to patients of ages specific to assigned area.
Emergency Department experience preferred. Critical Care experience a plus.
Working Conditions:
Works in a normal patient care environment where there is exposure to communicable disease.
Work requires standing and walking for prolonged period along with lifting, turning, or positioning patients.
Potential for exposure to injury due to combative or abusive patients.
Potential for exposure to hazardous materials.
Work often involves stress frequently found in a critical care environment.
Leadership Responsibility:
Provides leadership to assigned staff.
Will cover Emergency Department.
Hours:
40 Hours per week.
Primarily days with rotation to afternoon and nights as needed to meet department needs.
Holidays and weekends as needed.
