**Position Summary**
**General Summary/Responsibilities:**
The Respiratory Care Team leader is an advanced standing licensed therapist who functions as a frontline member of the Respiratory Leadership Team. He/she has proven interpersonal and problem solving skills which are employed daily to guide and support clinical staff, direct care and insure consistent workflow. He/she serves as a role model and mentor to members of the health care team and may act on behalf of leadership to intervene with issues and concerns while escalating concerns to the Department’s management staff

**Qualifications**
**Education**
**Minimum Level of Education Required:** Associate degree
**Additional requirements:**
+ **Type of degree** : Applied Science or the Equivalent
+ **Area of study or major** : Respiratory Care
+ **Preferred educational qualifications** : Bachelor’s Degree
+ **Position specific testing requiremen** t: N/A
**Licensure/Certification/Registration**
+ Valid Ohio Respiratory Care License, Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential through NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care)
+ BLS prior to hire, ACLS, PALS, NRP within 90 days.
+ Non-violent crisis prevention within 6 months of hire.
**Experience**
**Minimum Level of Experience Required:** 1 - 3 years of job-related experience
**Prior job title or occupational experience:** Registered Respiratory Therapist
**Prior specific functional responsibilities:** Demonstrated clinical excellence or superior performance in a variety of hospital clinical settings.
**Preferred** **experience:** Leadership experience

**Working Conditions:**
+ Ability to work and prioritize under stressful conditions which may occur in emergency conditions or under a heavy workload.
+ May be exposed to aggressive, violent behaviors from patients, family members, staff or visitors.
+ May be required to flex hours to other locations or shifts including nights, weekends or holidays.May need to attend meetings other than those designated during normal working hours.
+ May be exposed to blood and body fluids and infectious diseases including but not limited to tuberculosis, HIV, hepatitis and body infestations.
+ May be responsible for implementing front line supervisory duties in the absence of the manager

+ May be required to wear PPE for extended periods of time

+ Demonstrates and acts as a resource for all required respiratory care procedures and monitoring procedures with clinical expertise and confidence.
+ Evaluates the need for and performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation when necessary.Maintains intubation skill sets to support patients and provide education and mentoring for resident staff.
+ Works collaboratively with respiratory leadership to support clinical operations, provide safe patient care, implement programs and processes.
+ Provides feedback and documentation related to staff and situational performance
+ Oversees clinical operations to maintain quality, cost effective care.
