Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Participate directly on core Component Engineer team
Integrate with regional Services Technology Team
Provide technical leadership to shop engineering team
Facilitate implementation and qualification of new repairs
Lead repair projects that improve safety, quality, productivity, and cycle using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
Review and approve shop repair plans and work instructions
Provide technical assistance for process and quality issue resolution
Perform special process audits to ensure compliance with GE requirements
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
Participate on teams for problem solving, standardization, and best practice sharing
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Provide technology support to regional commercial repair team
Facilitate review and fulfillment of non-standard customer repair requests
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering/Science, or related engineering field of study from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in, with, and/or supporting a manufacturing, Services, repair, or design environment
Travel to repair centers, customer sites, and other locations as needed globally (10%)
Desired Characteristics
Lean training or equivalent quality training
Strong mechanical design and analytical background
Familiarity with manufacturing processes
Ability and established track record to drive projects to completion
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers
