Fluke Engineering Staff Research Engineer
Fluke is expanding its presence in Poland with the establishment of a new R&D team in Wroclaw, focused on developing next-generation products. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic organization in Poland as part of the global Research and Innovation team.
In this role, you will contribute deep technical expertise and thought leadership to create future Fluke products. You will collaborate with other researchers, scientists, and engineers across the global Fluke organization and develop strong relationships with the Product Management group to advance targeted innovation projects to fuel future Fluke growth. Your contributions will de-risk new technical innovation, providing a solid foundation for execution of the Fluke product roadmap.

As a Research Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:
Developing a deep working knowledge of the technologies and scientific foundation that enable our electrical test, measurement, and analysis portfolio. Identify opportunities to apply new technologies to improve Fluke products or address new product needs. Define, plan, and execute targeted research projects to de-risk applications of new technologies and product concepts.Responsibilities:
Technology Subject Matter Expert: Bring deep knowledge of Electricity and Magnetism (E&M) theory to advance Fluke’s capability and tools in industrial test and measurement as well as electrical systems analysis. Identify opportunities to leverage the latest advances at the frontier of technologies for electrical sensing. Industry Research: Identify opportunities to leverage the latest advances in electrical sensing science and technology into Fluke’s products. Bring forth ideas for new-to-world solutions for both mature and emerging markets. Leverage and build ongoing awareness of new technology developments across the global E&M technology sector. Invent: Use your knowledge of electrical technology trends, advanced understanding of E&M physics, and information Fluke’s business strategy to invent new capabilities for Fluke products. Experiment Design, Oversight, & Execution: De-risk new inventions and product concepts through effective experiment design, execution and oversight. Collaboration & Communication: Partner across functions and geographies and to ensure inventions and concepts are aligned with product strategy, to appropriately leverage and lead small teams to execute research, and to effectively communicate goals, plans, and results to peers and stakeholders. Goal-Oriented: Proactively respond to metrics and goals, taking the initiative to meet and exceed objectives.Qualifications:
Educational Background: Advanced degree in Electricity and Magnetism (E&M) Physics, MS required, PhD preferred. Technical Expertise: Expert in E&M theory and practical application to test and measurement tools. Experience designing and building electrical systems, use of simulation tools, and circuit design. Sufficient software skills to build prototypes, write experimentation scripts, and analyze/visualize data. Industry Experience: 8+ years’ experience in roles applying electrical systems knowledge to practical problems in a research or product development setting. Preferred familiarity with industrial test and measurement tools and technologies. Demonstration of end-to-end ownership of technology advancement from concept to practical implementation. Leadership Experience: Demonstrated personal and peer leadership with a proven ability to collaborate, inspire, and drive actions and results within a cross-functional team environment. Communication Skills: Able to convey strategies, specifications, and reports in a manner that is clear and appropriate for the intended audience. Analytical Skills / Scientific Method Proficiency: Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE), writing clear hypotheses, developing robust theory of operations, designing and executing experiment plans, diligent handling of variables and uncertainty sources, advanced data analysis interpretation skills.
