**Job Description Summary**
The Lead Risk Specialist is responsible for underwriting new transactions for Healthcare customers based on credit rating, borrowing history, and review of financial statements. Structuring offerings to mitigate risk, including overseeing process thru deal closure. Additionally, responsible for oversight of customer credit management following transaction closure including quarterly, annual and MAC reviews.
The Lead Risk Specialist should have working knowledge of underwriting requirements, best practices and how Risk processes integrate across all functions, with compliance and integrity being the foundation.

**Job Description**
**Roles and Responsibilities**
+ Responsible for driving business growth through the management of underwriting new and complex commercial transactions, primarily for Healthcare customers, inclusive of timely and accurate financial performance assessment of new and existing clients.
+ Partners with cross-functional deal team members structuring deals, confirming adherence to requirements, and overseeing the documentation process, including negotiating terms and conditions.
+ Utilizes in-depth knowledge of underwriting discipline, financial statement analysis, and analytical thinking to execute business policy/strategy. Basic knowledge of related commercial, operational, compliance and portfolio management disciplines.
+ Portfolio management responsibilities include regular analysis of financial performance, assessing trends and marketplace influences, proactively mitigating risk. Detailed analysis includes assessment of financial results vs. forecast, identifying potential issues and addressing appropriately.
+ May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
+ Jobs at this level function with some autonomy but are subject to functional practices and precedents or are covered by well-defined policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).
+ Must possess the ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems. Has ability to prioritize information for data analysis. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources to arrive at decisions.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with 6+ years of experience in Underwriting (or a high school diploma/GED with 10+ years of experience)
+ Applicants must be based in the Eastern Standard Time (EST) or Central Standard Time (CST) zones

For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $97,920.00-$146,880.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
