You manage the line between meeting production timelines and making quality products. As a manager, you are the trusted critical connection between the business and the workers on the floor.

What You'll Be Doing

Ensuring the safety of our operators and programmers when robots are integrated into their processes.

Improve the safety of robot cells to provide a safe work environment for the robot programmers to prevent injury.

Essential duties, including technical lead for the robot programmers.

Develop and maintain cost effective automated manufacturing processes.

Responsible for work instructions, job instructions, regulatory compliance, processing engineering changes, troubleshooting problems, and supporting changes in production methods and rates, pertaining to robot operations.

Ensure validation documentation is complete, accurate and complies with procedures, for all robotic equipment.

Manage the implementation of process changes, for all the automated weld cells, due to engineering changes and new product instructions.

Programming and programming guidance for all robotic cells, new and existing. (Yaskawa Motoman, Cincinnati Milacron)

Set up PLC and robot communications on new and existing production cells.

Proficient at understanding weld defects and discontinuities, per AWS Standards. (Weld quality)

Troubleshoot and remedy weld defects, wire feeders, weld power sources, welding torches, etc.

Troubleshooting robotic equipment effectively, to minimize downtime.

Maintaining robotic programs and parameters, to ensure the latest revision is always backed up.

Create back up of robot programs and/or parameters, as required.

Analyze and improve robot programs to improve the overall efficiency of the automated cells.

Reprogram automation of engineering changes and improvements.

Set up/program/conduct tests for process improvement and new products.

Perform skill evaluations/ assessments on new hires and current employees wanting to become robot programmers.

Review welded parts to ensure that new processes produce parts to the drawing (weld FAI’s).

Develop and maintain standard work for robot programmer positions.

Create and execute all validation documentation required for new robotic weld cells, as needed.

Continuously auditing/monitoring of weld robot programming to reduce cycle times driving efficiency improvements. Eliminating waste.

Integration of robotics and fabrication equipment, to increase the use of automation in other areas.

Integrating the use of robotics to load and unload weld tooling and the inspection of weldments. (Vision systems) 

What You'll Bring

High School Diploma, Technical Certificate, or equivalent experience by combination of additional education and work experience in a specific technical discipline.

Advanced Robot programming experience, with single and multiple arm cells, required. (Welding and Palletizing)

Weld experience is desired.

Excellent communication.

Troubleshooting and Root Cause Problem Solving skills.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $68,000 - $93,500 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
