Lead Security Officer (Big Island, Full-Time, 40)

RESPONSIBILITIES
**JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:**
• Provides work leadership and technical guidance to Security staff. Assigns and coordinates work to staff to ensure smooth and continuous operations within prescribed guidelines.
• Performs duties and responsibilities of a Security Officer.
**TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**
• Required: finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
• Frequent: standing, sitting, walking/running, riding of a bicycle, stooping/bending, climbing stairs, twisting body, walking on uneven ground, squatting, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling usual weight of 20 pounds up to 50 pounds of force.
• Occasional: kneeling, crawling.
**TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:**
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Exposure to body fluids, blood products, and communicable diseases.
• Work environment may be highly stressful, fast paced, and hectic.
• Exposed to electrical hazards, fire hazards and unsafe conditions and may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, hazardous chemicals and materials, intense heat, extreme cold, natural and manmade disasters and hazards associated with working in and near traffic.
• The noise level in the work environment varies from moderate to extreme.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**
**EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:**
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current State of Hawaii Guard Registration card.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license required in accordance with Hawaii state law rules and regulations.
• Meets and complies with qualifications set forth in QNHCH Fleet/Motor Vehicle policy.
• Current BLS certification.
**EXPERIENCE:**
• Two (2) years experience as a security officer in a healthcare facility, preferably comparable to the hospital.
• Prior experience as a Lead preferred.
• Experience to demonstrate:
o Knowledge of practices, methods, techniques, and equipment; pertinent city, state and federal laws and ordinances.
o Ability to read, write, speak and understand English and communicate effectively both orally and in writing to complete accurate reports.
