Our work depends on a Lead ServiceNow Developer joining our team to remotely (100% remote) support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The customer has a strong appetite for innovation, automation and leveraging much of the ServiceNow platform. If you have strong technical skills and a natural desire to learn, then this position and team may be a good fit for you.
At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Lead ServiceNow Developer supporting CMS, you will be trusted to design and build value-add solutions and ensure overall systems availability. In this role, a typical day will include:
Serve as a key ServiceNow application developer responsible for implementing using best practices as pertains to workflow, integration, configuration, customization, automation, access controls, Service Catalog, etc.Manage expectations and address concerns proactively.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and deploy software applications that meet project requirements and standards.Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to coding standards, and knowledge sharing among team members.Work closely with software architects, developers, quality assurance, and project managers to achieve project objectives.Ensure overall systems availability via good design/best practices, thorough testing, promotion discipline and responsiveness in root cause analysis.Prepare and execute unit test cases and test scripts, support user acceptance testing.Create and maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation for developed applications, APIs, and processes.Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to propose enhancements and improvements to existing systems.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field or equivalent working experience in lieu of a degree.A minimum of eight (8) years’ experience with the full SDLC responsibilities leveraging mature industry languages, with particular emphasis on JavaScript.Solid developer experience independent of the ServiceNow platform, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Solid skills using the ServiceNow platform: perform advanced customizations including business rules, UI policies, client scripts, script includes, UI actions, UI pages, UI macros, workflow, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, reporting, database views, Performance Analytics, ATF, etc.Effective communication skills: listening, talking, writing, and understanding. Good self-awareness.Ability to juggle multiple tasks in parallel with an awareness for evolving prioritization.Self-motivated to keep learning more about the ServiceNow platform, capabilities and best practices and apply/share them with teammates and our customerExperience working on project teams that leverage Agile/ScrumAbility to acquire and maintain a Public Trust clearance.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years’ experience maintaining and troubleshooting ServiceNow CMDB and Discovery implementation(s) or ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist: Discovery2+ years’ experience maintaining and troubleshooting SN event management and related experience with CMDB binding or ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist: Event Management2+ years’ experience maintaining and troubleshooting SN service mapping (new/custom patterns) and impact assessment rules on more recent versions of the platform or ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist: Service MappingCertified Application Developer (CAD) on a recent SN platform release and a minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a primary ServiceNow developer on a mature installation.Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) on a recent SN platform release and/or a minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a primary ServiceNow implementer on a mature installation.A command of relational database concepts.ITIL Foundations Certification (v3 or higher) or a willingness to attain within first year.Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and SharePointLOCATION: Remote

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
