Unity Lab Services provides a single source for integrated lab service, support, and supply management. Our customized service offerings and world-class service experts have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customer’s laboratory's business needs.

What will you do?

This position directs the daily workflow for a small team under the direction of the site lead and/or supervisor, enabling the team to consistently deliver high levels of customer service in support of our contractual obligations. May oversee service offerings including but not limited to: order/stockroom/dock management, procurement, material handling, chemical tracking, glass wash, media/reagent preparation, and cell culture support operations.

Effectively lead a diverse cross-functional team of on-site lab specialists. Responsible for complete employee lifecycle management: new hire selection, identification of training needs and solutions, coordinating development training, and employee performance evaluations.Deliver on committed contractual scope of work. Assist with tracking business metrics.Act as liaison between customer and Thermo Fisher Scientific; Coordinate onsite vendor escorting and customer visits as the site subject-matter expert, and act as a resource to identify savings and opportunities.Implement SOPs, conduct site audits, and assist with completion of annual physical inventoryDrive process improvement culture by supporting Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiativesRepresent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations, professionally and positivelyMay perform other responsibilities as assigned by management

How will you get here?

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate degree in a related field preferred, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills. Military Service/Training in lieu of a degree may also be considered.

Experience

3+ years of progressive, proven experience required

GxP Experience and IATA/DOT certification are also a plus.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Requires the ability to lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; lift 50 pounds occasionally, including operation and use of pushcarts, pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.

Regularly required to stand or walk for prolonged periods.

Work areas may include spaces where chemical-based allergens are in use (penicillin, tetracycline, etc.). Depending on the area of the building, personal protective equipment may be required.

Ability to work overtime, as needed.

As a Sr Site Specialist, you will play an instrumental role in supporting our scientists as they develop projects and experiments. A Day in the Life:

Perform inventory management and stockroom duties such as on-site replenishment ordering, disbursements, receiving, stock rotation, cycle counts, detrashing, inventory systems management, and other functions according to service level requirements.Perform order entry, order expediting, customer service call resolution, return goods authorization, and processing of backorders.May perform a portfolio of other services including, material handling, shipping/receiving, glass-wash & autoclave operationsWorks at customer location, in office environment to include cubicles, laboratories, and/or shipping/receiving docksExtensive walking/standing for 60-70% of the dayAble to lift, push and pull 30-40 pounds consistently and lift 50 poundsAble to use material handling equipment such as push carts and pallet jacksFollow procedures outlined by Best Practices, SOP's & work instructionsPromote personal growth and development by staying updated on new policies and improvementsPositively represent Unity Lab Services at customer locationsPerform other assigned duties

Keys to Success:

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent experience required.2+ years of confirmed experience in inventory management, customer service, or logistics.Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).Display a high level of confidentiality.Strong desire to serve customers and excellent interpersonal skills.Prioritization and coordination skills to multitask and meet deadlines.Proficiency in computer usage, including Microsoft Office suite (Excel proficiency highly valued).
