We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to join our newly created Testing Automation Centre of Excellence team in Unity Place - Milton Keynes.

The ideal candidate will help Testing Automation CoE to develop new testing solutions and improve the productivity and efficiency in QA activities improving the testing automation levels, adopting tool's, KPIs and methodologies by assembling's teams with the right skillset get them deployed.

As a chief in the team, you will head by example and will work closely with the other domains and stakeholders across the bank to help the bank to make the best outcomes for our customers.

Designing Architect test automation framework and develop new test automation libraries if requiredImplementing QA process and automated testing for all the work streams to improve the overall testing cycleDeveloping and executing Testing automation strategies plans to improve level of Testing Automation, including backlogs while ensuring product evolution through different product releasesEnsuring that technology practices and design patterns are aligned to best standards and in line with the wider company strategy, proving excellence in QA ExperienceBuilding and heading a high-performing team with a focus on driving innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement

What you’ll bring:

These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:

Hands on experience with Java (Spring, SpringBoot), BDD, Design, Architecture, TDD building automation testing frameworks for web, api and mobileHands on automation using modern mobile automation tools, XCUitest, Appium, and extensive experience in Cucumber, Gherkin, Selenium, jdbc, SQL queries, maven, Junit, GitHubKnowledge on AWS infrastructure and concepts with docker and KubernetesExtensive understanding of Performance Testing tools, distributed load testing with  JMeter and execution pipelines on Jenkins/GitHubExperience of using various technologies for automaton/DevOps pipelining; this includes exposure to a range of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) technologiesProven experience working in a team with shared responsibilities and grasp of monitoring tools, approach, and implementation

It would also be nice for you to have:

Excellent leadership and management skills, with experience building and leading high-performing, cross-functional teams with a proven track record of delivering projects in time, within scope, and within budgetExceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and strategies to both technical and non-technical audiencesExperience in testing automation working in a finance or banking domain would be a plusExperience in product management and driving results in Agile environments, including developing and launching commercially successful products

What else you need to know:

This permanent role is based in Unity Place – Milton Keynes.

To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).

1st Stage – Technical Interview – this will a 30min technical interview with one of the team.

2nd Stage – A one-hour formal interview where we will ask both technical and competency-based questions. This can be done virtually or face to face depending on your situation.
