As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banking (CIB) Technology – Securities Services Technology team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Oversee and directly manage the technology connectivity (sFTP, MQ) for new and existing external clients, including raising connectivity requests and dealing with external fee-paying clients Coordinate testing responsibilities, including agreeing on test scope with clients, setting up static data, coordinating instruction transmissions, and obtaining sign-off from Operations Conduct testing across the SWIFT network and flat files via sFTP Liaise and coordinate between external clients, internal CS, and Operations as well as team colleagues. Establish project requirements, priorities, and deadlines, ensuring that relevant risk and architecture requirements are in place. Communicate with stakeholders across the firm and external clients to work toward the best possible outcomes. Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems. Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others. Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems. Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies. Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent Experience in project management, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Knowledge of SWIFT and connectivity technologies such as sFTP and MQ Strong client-facing skillset with excellent written and oral English language skills Experience in test management, including writing and agreeing on test scopes Competence in managing technology connectivity and Instruction Capture testing projects Advanced in one or more programming language(s) Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Proficient understanding of the Securities Services Line of Business (Custody, Fund Accounting, IMOS) a plus
