Lead Software Engineer
The devices we make at SEL are embedded in the power grid. They prevent blackouts. They make outages safer and shorter in duration; they add cybersecurity, automation, and communication. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will help design and implement the systems that ensure the embedded firmware in these devices perform as specified to provide protection for critical infrastructure and power systems worldwide.

As a Lead Software Engineer, a typical day might include the following:  

Participate in the design, implementation, and test of software systems.Prepare and maintain designs and test documentation.Mentor others, including Engineers and Technicians.Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.Understand. Create. Simplify.Other duties as assigned. 

This job might be for you if: 

You have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.You have 5+ years’ experience in one or more of the following areas: Object oriented design, Object oriented languages (such as C++, C#, Java), Scripting languages (such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript).You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.You have the ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities and work cooperatively in a team environment.

$100,000 - $150,000

Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
