Lead Software Engineer

Overview:

As a Lead Software Engineer at the Loyalty Rewards and Segments Organization, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and delivering software frameworks in the areas of event-driven architecture and zero trust for use in large-scale distributed systems. Loyalty Rewards and Segments is an organisation within Mastercard that provide end to end loyalty management solution for banks, merchants and Fintechs.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in software design, development, and testing, with a passion for technology and software development. They will be highly motivated, intellectually curious, and analytical, with a desire to continuously learn and improve. As a member of the Loyalty Rewards and Segments team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver software frameworks that meet the needs of Mastercard's customers.

Role

Key Responsibilities:
\t•\tLead the technical direction, architecture, design, and engineering practices.
\t•\tPrototype and proving concepts for new technologies, application frameworks, and design patterns to improve software development practices.
\t•\tDesign and develop software frameworks using industry-standard best practices and methodologies
\t•\tWrite efficient and maintainable code that meets feature specifications
\t•\tDebug and troubleshoot code to resolve issues and improve performance
\t•\tValidate software functionality, including performance, reliability, and security
\t•\tCollaborate with cross-functional teams to architect and deliver new services
\t•\tParticipate in code reviews to ensure code quality and consistency
\t•\tDocument software design, development, and testing processes
\t•\tBalance trade-offs between competing interests with judgment and experience.
\t•\tIdentify synergies and reuse opportunities across teams and programs.

\t•\tFocus on individual and team objectives as an active participant in the Agile/Scrum development process, completing assignments on time, with the necessary quality, and in accordance with the project timeline
\t•\tContinuously learn and keep up-to-date with the latest software development technologies and methodologies
\t•\tCommunicate effectively and professionally with team members and stakeholders
\t•\tProactively identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains
\t•\tDemonstrate a commitment to quality, best practices, and continuous improvement


All About You

\t•\tCurrent, deep, hands-on software engineering experience in architecture, design, and implementation of large-scale distributed systems.
\t•\tRich experience and deep knowledge in event-driven architecture is a must, and zero trust architecture expertise is highly desirable.
\t•\tProficiency in programming languages such as Java.
\t•\tFamiliarity with software development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum and DevOps
\t•\tStrong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices
\t•\tExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
\t•\tStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
\t•\tPassion for technology and software development, with a strong desire to continuously learn and improve
\t•\tComfortable taking thoughtful risks and acquiring expertise as needed.
\t•\tAble to foster a comfortable environment for tough technical discussions where everyone can be heard.
