PIC North America, a Genus Company, has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a highly motivated Lead Software Developer with a strong background in leadership and system architecture to join our team and enhance our industry-leading genetic evaluation systems. This position will be responsible for troubleshooting issues within our custom-developed software, PICTraq, and implementing enhancements to facilitate FDA Part 11 compliance. We are seeking someone with a proven ability to act as a lead, guide teams, and make architectural decisions in the absence of a formal title.

The preferred location for the position is Hendersonville, TN, but for the right candidate, hybrid or remote work with travel may be considered.

You Will Act as lead for a team of software developersManage projects by identifying gathering requirements with stakeholders, writing user stories, and insuring quality of deployed features.Serve as a third-tier support in fixing software/data bugs, utilizing your knowledge of Python, PHP, Perl, and database procedures.Act as an architectural resource, designing and implementing enhancements to PICTraq that enable compliance with FDA Part 11.Collaborate with the Production Support Manager to identify automation opportunities, streamlining current manual processes.Partner with business and technical stakeholders to define project scope, identify risks, and prioritize initiatives.Read and debug existing code in PL/SQL, Python, Perl, and PHP to implement solutions with minimal oversight. Requirements

Basic Qualifications: (required)

At least 10 years of experience in software development, with a focus on troubleshooting and team leadership.Strong background in Linux, Python, PHP, Perl, and database procedures, with a proven ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex issues.Minimum of 5 years of experience with SQL and enterprise-level database tools, such as partitioning and materialized views.Proven experience in Agile Software Development, including leading sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

An application developer with experience in these areas.A University degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or EngineeringPrior experience in a 24/7 production environment. Business Overview
