The Team

The Fortify Software Security Center (SSC) team is building a suite of tools to help our clients visualize data, review and audit vulnerabilities. You will be Senior Software Engineer on the team and you will contribute to projects that aid in the aggregation, analysis, and visualization of source code vulnerabilities to secure applications.

 

What the role offers

Analyze, design, program, debug, and modify software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, or Internet- related computer programs, primarily for end users.Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications.Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.Develops product architectures and methodologies for software applications design and development across multiple platforms and organizations within the Global Business Unit.Identifies and evaluates new technologies, innovations, and outsourced development partner relationships for alignment with technology roadmap and business value; creates plans for integration and update into architecture.Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.Leverages recognized domain expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence decisions of executive business leadership, outsourced development partners, and industry standards groups.

 

What you need to succeed

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent.At least 6 years of experience in software developmentStrong knowledge of Java language and SQL (Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL)Hands-on experience with Java Spring framework, J2EE, Hibernate/JPAKnowledge and understanding of REST-like APIsKnowledge and understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, MicroServicesKnowledge and understanding of GitExperience in overall architecture of software applications (multi-platform) for products and solutions.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Experience in solving ‘scalability’ and performance problems of an enterprise application.Knowledge and experience of Agile development practicesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at business unit and executive levels.

 

Desirable Skills

Hands-on experience with TomcatKnowledge and understanding of LiquibaseKnowledge and understanding of LuceneEvaluating and selecting tools and processes for software applications testing and methodologyHistory of innovation with multiple patents or deployed solutions in the field of software design, preferred but not a requirementKnowledge and understanding of Secure coding practices.
