Lead Software Engineer

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking API Marketplace Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance tools that improve the internal developer community. You will be a technical leader with a focus on Customer Enablement, responsible for troubleshooting complex technical problems, driving customer focused solutions, and improving internal processes in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

Leads sessions with internal teams to drive optimal usage of tools and gateway configuration to ensure customer success Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems Identifies and drives process improvements to increase team and organization efficiency Identifies and Measures Application SLA's, Customer Journeys, and Tool Usage Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Advanced in one or more programming language(s) Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security Proficiency in cloud native architecture, microservice architecture, container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) Experience in development, deployment strategies and support of REST API interfaces, or knowledge of GraphQL Experience with reliability practices and observability tools, such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Datadog Practical cloud native experience

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Experience leading direct customer interaction Experience creating or measuring SLAs Experience with an API management platform such as Apigee, AWS API GW, Kong, Spring cloud gateway, or proxy routing technologies such as Envoy Proxy Experience deploying and running workloads on AWS (using EKS) Experience in Request Routing, Load Balancing, DNS Resolution Experience with Content Delivery Networks such as Akamai Advanced application development experience using Java/Spring Boot in microservices applications
