Lead Software Engineer(Cloud DevOps)

Job Summary :

We are seeking a talented, collaborative, high-energy engineering professional with extensive technical expertise and a passion for automating infrastructure and deployment processes to help build, test, and release the next generation of our cloud-based Expert Solutions. The LR/DXG IPM Service Operations & Delivery team provides the DevOps and SRE services which are critical to Wolters Kluwer and our Expert Solutions.

As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of the infrastructure and deployment pipelines for our applications, as well as maintaining and improving reliability of our existing systems. You will work alongside the Wolters Kluwer Product Teams to successfully implementing and bring any learnings through continuous improvements. You will work closely with the application development teams to ensure that our services and solutions are delivered efficiently and with the highest level of quality. In addition, you will be responsible for mentoring a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration with continuous learning

Essential Duties And Responsibilities :

As a Lead DevOPS Engineer :

Design, implement and automate the creation of Cloud Infrastructure in Azure & AWS using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible and JenkinsProvide leadership, experience and mentoring on the adoption and usage of Infrastructure as Code automation across Service Operations and Delivery and as well as the broader organisationBuild and help transform towards container and serverless compute architectures, such as AKS, EKS, Docker and Azure Functions.Build and help maintain CI/CD pipelines and orchestrations across multiple environmentsAdvise, implement and support the adoption of Cloud Native solutions as appropriate to the situation and needsBuild effective Observability of managed solutions, including troubleshooting issues as they arise.Ensure the infrastructure, automation, monitoring, and CI/CD solutions for LR/DXG are compatible with the broader organisational DevOps and Security patterns and processesMentor a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.Explore new technologies, development patterns, and partake in pilots/POC/technology
evaluations.Conduct work activities using SRE principles, such as resilience, metrics, capacity planning, toil, Incident management and security.Provide input into architecture and engineering standardsDeploy and maintain critical applicationsProvide input into designing new systems and modernise existing applicationsIdentify areas in need of engineering improvements and proposing replacement strategiesResolve Production incidents and contribute into root cause analysisImprove knowledge sharing across the organisation on automation best practices.Have on call responsibilities in rotation within the Service Delivery and Operations team

Job Qualifications : Hold at least two Azure &/or AWS Certifications

Education :    Bachelor's Engineering and a Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field

Required Experience : 

Minimum 10 years of software related experience required, with a mixture of Site Reliability, DevOps, or Release Engineering experience with Software Engineering experience in backend services, middleware or data systemsStrong background in software development, with experience in languages such as Python, Ruby, or Java.Possess recent experience with Cloud infrastructure (Azure and AWS)Proficient in Shell Scripting Languages (PowerShell & Bash).Understanding of the core AWS and Azure services.Proficiency with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins or Travis CI.Experience in leading a team of DevOPS engineers.Able to communicate complex technical projects to multiple staff types effectively in order to achieve buy in on plans and proposals. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.Experience and deep commitment to the transformation to a DevOps culture focusing on continuous integration – full lifecycle of building, automated and performance testing, and automating deployment.Experience building platforms for Observability and defining standard operating proceduresExperience with diagnostic tools and script automation of Windows and Linux

Preferred Experience : 

Experience maintaining and deploying highly available, fault-tolerant cloud-native systems at scale using Infrastructure as Code automation.
