About the Merchandise Team

You will be part of the Merchandising Engineering – Supply Chain group, supporting our mission of creating a world of possibilities for the business by building robust systems which can scale to meet current and future business needs. We are critical in providing the master data to our ecommerce and retail businesses for various brands. This team is looking for a highly dedicated individual who can take ownership and accountability of the domain to deliver configurations/code following Williams Sonoma’s high standards for software delivery.

Overview of the Lead Software Engineer, STIBO Product Information Management Role

You will be leading WSI’s STIBO Product Information Management Application which focuses on the Item, Location and Vendor Portal modules. You will be required to do configurations and custom development on the STIBO STEP modules. This role requires in-depth technical and strong interpersonal skills to partner closely with key stakeholders across the line of business and technology teams to deliver business functional requirements with a customer first focus. You will also leverage previous software development experience to engineer scalable and extensible solutions.

Responsibilities

Working on STIBO STEP configuration and custom development. Keeping up to date with what’s current in the STEP platform versions and providing suggestions for upgrade. Setting up new integrations, adding object types to the data model, Java Script business rules and workflow. Understanding requirements and collaborating with the product management and business teams to create solutions and technical design documents. Knowledge of working in an agile delivery environment and proficiency in Jira/Git. Debugging business rules and any defect resolutions. Evaluating the advantages for the upgrade and collaborating with the Dev Ops team to perform upgrades Ensuring that solutions are scalable and extensible for future needs by running performance tests. Working in close coordination with the production support teams to ensure stability of the system during peak demands. Mentoring other junior software engineers in the team onsite/offshore. Building operational readiness and alerts/monitoring to help production support teams in their day-to-day activities. Ensuring PHI/PII data security and compliance. Recommending solutions towards stability, maintainability, and scalability of the STIBO STEP implementation at Williams Sonoma Inc

Criteria

You have a BS or MS in Computer Sciences, Engineering, or related field (an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered) 8+ Years’ experience working in the Retail industry  8+ years’ experience working with cross functional teams 8+ years of Expert technical experience in software development using Java, JavaScript, data and database design, SQL, XML, XSD, JSON, Linux and Web services  In-depth understanding of relational database (Oracle, DB2 or SQL) and ability to write/review complex operational queries. Good understanding of API RESTful services Capable of defining deployment process and methodologies Should have great technical documentation skills. Must also be able to prepare solutions for architecture documents and should be able to thoroughly review all the design documents Build standards and reusable components as part of customization for new functionality on packaged solution Assist the architects in tool evaluations, architectural choices and POCs Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast paced and growth-oriented environment. Experience building scalable, reliable and maintainable systems MDM/PIM experience preferred. 5+ years of STIBO STEP systems configuration, development, architectural design and integration experience - attribute creation, business rule creation, portal development, integration endpoint configuration and workflow creation. Intuitive, analytical and problem-solving skills to address and resolve technical development issues in a limited timeframe

The expected starting pay range for this position is $140,000-$160,000. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
