Responsibilities:

MTSI is seeking a Lead Software SME with experience in software, computer vision, open systems architecture, uncertainty quantification, data analysis, statistics, infrared, and test. The position will be tasked to partner with and provide oversight on teams of developers and engineers developing software. The effort will include software development, deployment, implementation, and integration to support the manufacturing, integration, calibration, and test (bench/lab/ground/flight) for infrared sensor systems. Additional duties include managing vendor contracts, providing status reports and recommendations to the customer, and maintaining technical software documentation.

• Provide SME support to the customer team and their vendors during the development, deployment, implementation, test, fielding, and acceptance of software to support state-of-the-art infrared systems
• Travel to vendor facilities to partner with and provide technical leadership and guidance to vendor software development teams and provide oversight of software development efforts and produce status reports and recommendations
• Implement industry standard, theoretical, and/or rigorous analysis methodologies to verify and validate software designs and analysis methods
• Remain current on new software technologies and available vendor packages, evaluate and make recommendations as necessary
• Collaborate with government personnel to prioritize features and deliverables to meet changing customer needs
• Work well in a team environment as well as independently
• Exhibit a willingness to accept changing and evolving roles & responsibilities in support of customers' requirements and needs

Qualifications:

Required Skills/Experience
• Minimum of 8 years of related relevant experience
• Working knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of software development, deployment, implementation, test, and fielding
• Deep understanding of imperative and object-oriented languages. Examples could include Python, Java, C++, MATLAB, etc.
• Understanding of concepts, principles, and practices of open systems architecture
• Excellent communications and analytical skills; thorough knowledge of computer systems, software, and current modeling tools

Desired Skills//Experience/Credentials
• Experience with implementation, compliance verification, and best practices for open systems architecture
• Experience with computer vision, machine learning, and other emerging computational methodologies
• Experience in data analysis, uncertainty quantification, and statistical methods
• Experience in flight testing of aircraft systems and sensor testing with a clear understanding of flight test principles and discipline
• Experience in radiometry, optics, and calibration of infrared systems
• Aptitude to learn new software tools and computational methods

Education
Bachelor's degree (engineering, math, computer science, information technology, data sciences, or physics). Masters degree preferred.

Travel:
Travel up to 20% may be required for this position.

Clearance Requirements:
Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility is required.

U.S. Citizenship is required.
