Your Role
This newly created leadership role is pivotal in embedding safety as a core value across exploration activities. You will drive OHS systems, mentor teams, and ensure alignment with Gold Fields' group strategies. As a key safety leader, you will:
Develop and implement exploration-level safety and health strategies that align with company-wide objectives.
Oversee critical functions, including Safety & Health, Emergency Services, Security, Injury Prevention, Mental Health, and Gender Safety.
Lead risk management initiatives, safety investigations, training programs, and audits.
Coach and advise business leaders to foster a proactive safety culture.
Ensure emergency response and security services are effectively managed.
Influence workforce engagement through leadership development, career growth, and performance management.
Manage budgets, training programs, and resources to optimize safety operations.
Represent Gold Fields in industry forums, associations, and safety networks.
This is a corporate office-based Perth role, Monday to Friday with regular site visits.
What You Bring
You’re a proactive and influential leader with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Along with:
Essential:
Degree or formal qualifications in OHS.
Experience in safety leadership within exploration, mining, or similar high-risk environments.
Strong knowledge of OHS and legislative requirements.
Manual driver’s license.
Microsoft Office skills.
Desirable:
Cert IV in Workplace Training & Assessment.
Cert III in Mines Rescue.
Additional qualifications in commerce, frontline management, or similar.
