The AVD Engineer will be responsible for documenting and implementing complex virtual desktop interface solutions to be consistent with the global institutional policies/procedures. A successful candidate will be a part of the global team of AVD Engineers to perform integration activities between R1 and Cloudmed systems to create a unified AVD experience. Duties also include communicating technical/complex information both verbally and in writing, establishing, and maintaining cooperation, understanding, trust and credibility between all team members.
In this role, AVD Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of the R1’s AVD infrastructure by analyzing performance, capacity planning, installation, and maintenance of Azure AVD-related applications, and supporting all AVD infrastructure hardware and software.
The successful candidate must have been a part of a successful project on deployment, management, and migration for large virtual desktop user base (2,000 + users).
Responsibilities:
Under a general guidance of the AVD Team Manager, carries out testing procedures and implementation plans to ensure operational reliability and scalability of AVDIn alignment with the project goals, carries out procedures on R1 and Cloudmed infrastructure access for end users and development teamsWorks within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the virtual infrastructureAnalyzes existing systems and processes to recommend changes/improvements to maximize user capabilitiesWorks with other Team members to ensure project delivery expectations are effectively communicated and metProvides Tier 2/3-type support for global AVD infrastructure (serves as a point of escalation for Tier 1 support)Participate in on-call rotations and perform off-hour maintenance activitiesLeads technical initiatives as assigned and acts as a mentor for other team membersDesigns, automates and engineers high-availability, scalable solutions for new and existing servicesDeploys, administers, and secures AVD environments for business needs (image management, application packaging, patching and deployment)Researches, implements, and documents new tools and processesPerforms multiple tasks concurrently and responds to emergency situations effectivelyPerforms duties in a professional, polite, considerate, courteous, and timely mannerUnderstands, supports, enforces, and complies with company policies, procedures and standards of business ethics and conductRequired Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline, relevant experience may substitute for the degree3-5 years of overall virtual desktop experience3-5 years extensive Microsoft server/desktop administration and Active Directory in multi domain forest environment (including GPOs, JSON, PowerShell scripting, DNS, DHCP, ADFS, RDS (Remote Desktop Services), SQL)Expertise in the Windows 10 operating environment, imaging process and Office 365Experience creating, maintaining, and communicating complex information technology documentationWorking knowledge of Azure administrationExperience creating software packages, deployment, patch management, data, and cost analyticsKnowledge of Azure cloud, networking, and enterprise architecturesDesired Qualifications:
