Lead Supervisor Maintenance

Overview This position is responsible for direction and oversight of power plant electrical and instrumentation maintenance, including direct supervision of maintenance leaders/chiefs. Responsibilities Core Responsibilities Supervises the work of electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities and associated personnel, including technical direction, scheduling, job assignments, performance appraisals, and employee development. Prioritizes, plans, and coordinates corrective and preventive maintenance work across the total plant. Coordinates and oversees direction of major projects. Ensures availability of material and personnel resources to meet project timeline requirements. Oversees development and communication of outage work schedules and reports. Supervises all aspects of the maintenance management system including data entry and historical records. Works with plant management, engineers, department supervisors, and maintenance planners to prioritize, communicate and coordinate outage project schedules. Prepares project budgets and justifications, including financial analysis, and track to completion. Writes specifications. Works within the requirements and policies of Supply Chain procurement. Investigates equipment, facilities, and maintenance practices on an ongoing basis, to identify plant improvements through modifications to equipment, work structure, and work simplification. Ensures that all work activities are performed safely and in compliance with company policies, procedures, and uniform work rules. Ensures completion of safety / compliance related training for themselves and employees reporting to them. Communicates and coordinates work schedules with all departments including operations. Responsible for accurate reporting of employee work hours and cost allocations for payroll and budgeting purposes. All other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications Education/Experience/Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and minimum five year’s job-related experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year for year basis. Valid driver’s license required. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of established safety procedures and power plant systems/equipment. Thorough understanding of controls/instrument and electrical systems/equipment. Effective interpersonal and leadership skills. Supervisory experience. Attendance Regular attendance is essential for satisfactory performance. Work Conditions Power plant work environment includes exposures to temperature extremes (hot, cold) associated with maintenance of power plant equipment and systems. Work includes heights (ladders, platforms, scaffolds, etc.), confined spaces, and proximity to high-voltages. Dust and debris associated with fuels and fuel by-products. Respirator use required. Position is subject to work outside of normal 8 hour schedule during emergency and/or outage situations. Physical Effort Work routinely requires lifting, climbing, and bending. Job Hazards Moderate hazards associated with power plant maintenance activities.
