Job Description SummaryProvide Systems Design leadership for the Product ,offering solutions to the customers as part of the product releases.
Require understanding and will need to capture the user needs into system requirements and will be responsible for the architectural decomposition and allocation to subsystems from concept to release.
Implementing the right design strategies like requirement management, Test for reliability, FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and demonstrating compliance to various standards and process.
Be an active participant of program core team in delivering quality product.

Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.
Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

In this LSD role, you will:

Provide Systems Design leadership for the Product, offering solutions to the customers as part of the product releases.

Require understanding and will need to capture the user needs into system requirements and will be responsible for the architectural decomposition and allocation to subsystems from concept to release.

Implementing the right design strategies like requirement management, Test for reliability, FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and demonstrating compliance to various standards and process.

Be an active participant of program core team in delivering quality product.

Ensuring that the quality targets are satisfied and retires technical risks as they arise on the program or released product

Leading the design team and design control process from requirements development, design planning to design transfer

Leading the design team in the development of verification and validation planning and execution for NPIs and released products

Developing requirements flow down, architecture/system design and analysis, risk analysis, integration and test, manufacturing, field and customer support including corrective and preventative actions to ensure customer satisfaction

Driving the architecture, test strategies, design requirements for the product all the time balancing implementation complexity, risks, manufacturability, serviceability and quality

Required Qualifications

Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Engineering in Electrical/Mechanical/Computer Science/Electronics/Biomedical Electronics.

8+ years Industry experience as an engineer or scientist within the appropriate field of study.

2+ years’ experience as LSD within engineering environment.

Technical Expertise

Experience in design/development/test of software systems/products.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work harmoniously within a team as both a leader and a contributor.

Demonstrated experience driving requirements development and management and flow-down to subsystems while ensuring traceability between design and test procedures.

Demonstrated ability to work with technical leadership team to implement product platform/subsystem multi-generation technology plan for a specific release of a global program/product

Desired Qualifications

Demonstrated experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) regulatory compliance process, design history file and related documentation

Creative problem solver and solution developer when presented with conflicting requirements, business demands and technical risks/issues

Demonstrated skills in proactively identifying, facilitating, and driving closure of a product/program

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to successfully work within and influence cross functional team members

Quality Specific Goals

Aware of and comply with the GE Healthcare Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

Drive compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Control FDRs and NPI program milestones

Identify continuous improvement activities by initiating the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives

Aware of and comply with the change management work instruction

Develop an open quality culture within the organization that fosters issue discussion and decision-making based on quality and compliance objectives

As a LSD you will effectively collaborate with the customer and other engineering teams and stakeholders to ensure that all milestones and deliverables are met. You will have the ability to work with the customer to capture and understand correct and complete requirements that describe the system and communicate these effectively to the engineering team.
