As a Lead Systems Administration in the Network Cloud Operations organization, you will be responsible for 24x7 operations, administration and maintenance of server infrastructure in AT&T’s NC (Network Cloud) Linux based environment. This job performs deployment of software updates on this cloud platform comprised of Linux OS, BIOS/ firmware, OpenStack, Kubernetes, Calico, Ceph, Maria DB and other software components.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Performs work focusing on software, maintenance, and operations of systems used by AT&T or its clients to conduct business.
Performs feasibility assessments, creates requirements, manages projects, and integrates and tests technical solutions for software.
Required Qualifications:
5-8 years of working experience on Production Environment
Broad-spectrum skill set across Linux, KVM, OpenStack, Kubernetes, Containers, Cloud Infrastructure platforms and monitoring of the server Infrastructure.
Excellent trouble-shooting and analytical skills in Systems Administration of Linux, Cloud, OpenStack and Kubernetes environment.
Well versed and worked on operations and maintenance of OpenStack modules like Keystone, Nova, Neutron, Swift, Cinder, Heat, Glance, Horizon, and Fuel.
Well versed with concepts like High Availability, DRS, Fault Tolerance, Scalability, Reliability, shared resources etc.
Creating, reviewing, approving, and implementing changes in NC server environment.
Restoration of applications/services in NC infrastructure from hardware/ OpenStack/ OS perspective in outage / service degradation scenarios.
Python & shell scripting.
Deployment of NC Server infrastructure (Linux, OpenStack & Kubernetes).
Knowledge and Understanding of CI/CD Pipeline in Jenkins, GitHub
Coordination with OS vendors, development teams, production support teams for root cause analysis, configuration changes etc.
Coordination with hardware vendors (Dell, HP) for faulty hardware replacement.
High level of customer focus, to provide effortless customer experience. Should display a positive attitude working with various peers/ customers / clients/ vendors etc.
Work in 24x7 rotational shift operations.
Should have strong analytical/logical/problem solving skills.
Should have to work across diverse teams across regions/cultures.
Certification in Systems Administration of Linux, Open Stack and Kubernetes is preferable.
The candidate should have high level of coordination and communication skills (verbal and written).
Required Technical Skills:
5-8 years’ experience in Linux System Administration
3 + years’ experience in Kubernetes
3-5 years’ experience in Jenkins Pipeline Executing and Merging (Cert Rotations, OS and Code Upgrades, Firmware upgrades)
3-5 years’ experience in GitHub Repository Management
5-8 years’ experience in Dell and HP x 86 based Hardware Break/fix
Additional Technical Skills:
3 + years’ experience in CI/CD
5 + years’ experience in Nagios
5 + years’ experience in Prometheus
5 + years’ experience in Grafana
3-5 years’ experience in Kibana
3-5 years’ experience in API
3-5 years’ experience in Ceph
3-5 years’ experience in OpenStack
3 + years’ experience in Ansible
3 + years’ experience in TCP/IP Networking
3 + years’ experience in Calico
3 + years’ experience in SSL/TLS Certificates
Desired Qualification:
Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, Electronics, Engineering or Communications preferred.
Our Lead Systems Administration earns between $106,100 - $178,200 annually. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
