Lead Systems Administrator

SRC Inc. is currently seeking a Lead Systems Administrator. The selected candidate will serve as a Team Lead within the IT Technical Engineering team, working alongside IT team members to implement and maintain specialized server systems. This role involves providing support for users who rely on Linux and Windows operating systems. The candidate will mentor others by offering guidance, developing goals, providing feedback, and supporting the overall development of IT team members.  What You'll Do  Technical Responsibilities  Implement and maintain IT systems, infrastructure and solutions Administer server-based user applications Contribute expertise in systems design planning sessions Research new technologies in line with business objectives Integrate new hardware and software into existing infrastructure Plan and implement patches, upgrades, and migrations Develop redundancy plans for critical systems Develop, implement, and maintain security controls and supporting documentation Security incident response, vulnerability and log assessments, and information assurance compliance scan Monitoring and performance tuning Support budgeting process to include system and resource planning activities  Leadership Responsibilities  Provide guidance to team members and leadership to efficiently prioritize tasks and project efforts Collaborate with IT Teams (apps, database, Security) and Stakeholders  Proactively address team conflicts by demonstrating self-awareness, positive influence, and relationship management skills Collaborate with project managers and business partners to deliver Enterprise Governance projects Listen and recommend solutions to business partner requests and to IT management and Infrastructure Engineers Track progress of efforts underway (work management) through assisting others with creating schedules, reminders, and automated tickets (manage by objective) Lead initiative to continually improve existing processes in coordination with team by process modification while considering automation opportunities Goal planning and performance review delivery  What You'll Bring  Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field and 4+ years of experience in an enterprise IT infrastructure environment DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level 2 certification required (GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security or GICSP) or obtain within 6 months of employment Experience in administering both Linux and Windows operating systems. (Knowledge of VMware is a plus) Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions (Experience with Veeam is a plus) Willingness to provide off-hours support to perform active monitoring, maintenance, patching and troubleshooting Proactive nature to include addressing issues promptly and opportunities continuously  Candidate must be able to communicate effectively and lead efforts within a team Leadership qualities to include listening, coaching, and mentorship Proven track record of project delivery and aligning team efforts with organizational goals Occasional travel required (5%)  Ways to Stand Out – Preferred Requirements Experience with IT automation / configuration management tools (i.e. Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), SALT, Ansible) Experience with integrating Linux systems into Active Directory environments Experience with secure infrastructure practices including DTA, secure build, and STIG implementation utilizing tools and process (i.e. STIG Viewer, SCAP, and EvaluateSTIG)  What Sets Us Apart?

The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $101,000 to $139,000 annually.
