The Lead Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and spiritually enriching learning environment for young children. In addition to providing academic, social, and emotional development, the Lead Teacher will integrate faith-based principles into the curriculum, helping children grow in their understanding of Christian values and teachings. This role involves planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate and faith-centered curriculum, overseeing classroom management, and guiding support staff. The Lead Teacher will foster a love for learning while nurturing children's spiritual growth, maintaining open communication with parents and caregivers to support children’s development at home and in the classroom. Collaboration with staff members, commitment to professional development, and dedication to a Christ-centered approach to education are key to this role. This position reports to the Director of The Little Bruins Preschool.
Essential Functions:
Design and implement a developmentally appropriate and faith-based curriculum that supports academic, social and spiritual growth. Integrate scripture, prayer, and blessings into daily classroom activities. Integrate whole child development and faith formation into all aspects of the education and operation of the preschool.Create a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment that reflects Christian values and promotes a sense of belonging, safety, and positive behavior. Create and sustain a culture of care for children and families in alignment with Belmont University’s mission, vision, and Aspirational Aim.Conduct regular assessments to monitor and document children’s progress. Communicate regularly with parents/caregivers regarding children’s development, behavior, and any concerns. Provide individualized support to children with diverse learning needs.Collaborate with assistant teachers and staff to ensure a well-organized, efficient classroom.Ensure compliance with all licensing and state regulations. Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local statutes, regulations, and requirements.Attend and participate in professional development opportunities and team meetings.Manage classroom supplies and resources effectively to maintain a conducive learning environment.The above statements describe the job’s essential responsibilities and requirements.
