Job Title - Lead Teacher
Reports to – Preschool Manager
Department – SRVS Kids & Families – Play, Do, Learn Preschool
Summary: The Lead Teacher will plan, coordinate, and conduct Play Do Learn class for children who are typical and/or have special needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and implement daily individual activities in the following areas of development: cognitive, speech and language, fine motor, gross motor, self-help, and social-emotional Plan and implement daily behavior management strategies as needed Prepare progress reports and participate in the IFSP, six month review, and other assessments and conferences as requested Record daily attendance and other required record keeping. Train and supervise teacher assistants Conduct observation visits of prospective families and other interested persons Train volunteers and students Maintain a safe and sanitary program site Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related Allied Health field with a minimum of two years related work experience Ability to work cooperatively with other staff members and to communicate empathetically with parents and children Ability to work independently in conducting responsibilities
Physical Requirements:
The Lead Teacher will be required to lift children as needed.
