Service Manager - Traction

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure the Service portfolio is delivered effectively according to ABB standard processes and safety guidelines to satisfy customers. Each day, you will execute technical support, act as a specialist, and solve problems in your own area of expertise. You will also showcase your expertise by communicating both with the customer and ABB sales teams proactively to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for service growth. The work model for the role is: #LI - OnsiteThis role is contributing to the Motion Traction Division in Nelamangala, Bangalore.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tResponsible for providing second level Technical support to running product lines to resolve the chronicle issues related to hardware or software and co-ordinate with respective stake holder (Global Engineering /PLCM team) to correction of hardware/software issues as per requirement of customer as well as for improvement of product. •\tApply expertise to understanding the product control logic as well as improvement proposed to related stake holder for product improvement.•\tEnsure the software/logic modifications lab or field level test/validation.•\tDiscuss and suggest software logic /parameter regarding Fine-tune the software depend on the analysis and validation.•\tCounter partners for all the technical interaction with customers and internal teams. •\tLead and Support to Traction Technical and PLCM team.•\tGood understanding of electrical installations in rail vehicles (Knowledge on Electrical Locomotive/EMU/Metro is an advantage)•\tBasic knowledge of protocols like CANopen, J1939, Ethernet (TCPIP/UDP/TRDP), MVB is an advantage

Qualifications for the role

\tDegree in Electronics & Communication Engineering OR E&E (Electrical Engineering) completed by recognised University and proven track record in resolving critical problem and good understanding of electrical Schematic, logic and controls. \tTeam leading capability and experience 10-12 years of 3 phase electric locomotives /EMU’s/ metro propulsion chain.\tDemonstrable expertise in Troubleshooting of rolling stock Equipments, fault finding analysis in terms of drive train (preferably IR 3 phase Electric locomotives, Conventional Electric locomotives, EMU and Metro will be added advantage).\tExpertise in Troubleshooting of IGBT based Propulsion system as well as Auxiliary, Battery charger and Propulsion of EMU and metros. \tA Well-structured approach to problem solving and ability to learn fast\tAbility to work effectively in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across the globe\tReadiness to travel for customer meetings & product performance corrective Ness (approx. 20-30% of working hours)\tGood communication skills.
